Fan Art • Drawings • 3D Rendering • Comic Book Series
I envied the skills of comic book artists (like Mark Bagley, Todd McFarlane, etc). I was stuck in a rut – always drawing the same characters with poor muscle definition and my general style at that point was cartoonish – I wanted a change.
So I rented loads of human anatomy books and spent the next few weeks studying, practising and changing the entire way that I drew and what I was drawing – something that has helped me all the way up to the present day.
From then, I would get momentary surges of artistic overload where I would draw 2 or 3 images in quick succession, followed by long periods of non-creativity. Then, in a stroke of luck, I started working with 3D graphic programs and my artistic flame started to rekindle.
When my brother asked me to draw ‘the girls from Frozen’ for his daughters’ Christmas present, something inside me clicked and the floodgates opened and I couldn’t stop drawing! I was drawing a picture a week – it was like the dark years in my artistic life had merely been a type of hibernation, my creativity and talents preparing themselves for the re-awakening.
Now I actually enjoy drawing again, I enjoy doing 3D graphics and have been working on a comic series for a few years. I’ve now completed 3 graphic novels which will be available on this site soon.
